Should i buy Power Attack Skill - Greatsword

I have now 25 GS Skill. There are two new Skills that i can buy.

Is the Power Attack 500 Gold worth?

I have 25 power attack GS and it adds roughly 3 points of damage. not very viable in pvp either, as it is a stab and has no arc. Maybe with weapon mastery its good for sneaking up on someone? I don't know.

What is stab and arc? why its good for sneaking?

The power attack gets more bonus from behind.
So its good opening move for someone sneaking arround

edit: I think that other guy means that the attack itself is more of a stab animation and thus less viable in combat than a slash.

I can guess power-attack is supposed to give at least +5 damage when maxed out, that makes it somewhat worth it. But I never have time to do special attacks in PvP.

I give around 11 damage with a one-handed club and something like 13 with power-attack. Recently bought it.

But you'll only raise it when you actually hit something, and its a little hard to hit with.

The problem is you can not que a skill up, so when you press the button to activate it most of the time you cancel it out because you are clicking away (attacking a parrying) through the whole pvp fight, not to mention eating, casting shooting arrows drinking potions. If they make the skills a little easier to access and possible a wider swing then yes it would be useful, but as it is now, its more for pve (a lot more casual fighting then pvp)

Not worth it as a skill. I really regret the 30 skill points I wasted leveling it up. It has a thrusting slowish maneuver and it is impossible to hit anyone in PvP unless they are afk macroing or you open with this. Even if you do open with this I think you pretty much have more viable solutions...like archery or a high damage spell if you have elemental magic/necro/arcane.

Wait till you get to 50 and buy wirlwind. Now that does worth the gold and time.

Edit- Forgot...buy also knockback. It is useful in certain cases. But imo Power attack is a nono.

I can do 45+ damage with a power attack from behind if I use a r40 greatsword. But it's really only useful as an opener, in a real fight the risk is too great, chances are you will miss when you use it because it has no arc and its range is fucked up (seems to be much less than an overhead swing).

Totally not worth it, as said its only usefull as a opener.
Although i still believe they will make it to a slash attack insteed of a stab.

Until then its rubbish.

Perfect for hitting naked miners in the back with, drop a power attack, then a whirlwind, then start swingin till he runs.

It's not to recommend to use Power Attack in the middle of a fight. Even if you hit and do a weenie bit more damage, the time it takes to change from normal attack to power attack and back will make it less dips.

lets ask for special attacks to be queueable. Problem solved.
The UI is a little awkward anyway...

Power attack is useful against targets that are not moving. Otherwise not worth the gold. It's not even on my weapon hotbar anymore.

I use it as an opener. I never use it on somebody actually fighting back. The damage is crap to the front.

I like it for PvE and for hitting mounted players. I use polearms though, so it may be a bit more useful for me.
