Yep, that's the way that markets work. People sell shit that other people want but can't get, and then expect to make gold for doing it. Kinda funny, huh?

You don't have to take the city to use the harbor. You could move in with 40 or 50 people to a weak city or during their off hours and just tell them that if they interfere with your crafting you are going to raze the city to the ground sooner then later or just pay them for use of their harbor.

If you have to hire people to do that then you need to find a better clan.
