player in robes,shues and shites with hooded must sprint faster as they sprint now and swimm as they swimm now
Player in leather must sprint as fast as they sprint now but swimm a litle bit slower and get some bonus to crouch walk and bunus dmg when atacking from crouch.
Player in iron plate must sprint much slower and unable to sprint when swimm but must get some bonus dmg and bonus dmg reduction when they rideing a mount.
Naced players must have faster stamina drain lets say 50% faster ,sprint a litle bit slower( coz its hard to sprint in rocks ,ice, warm sand...withouth shues) swimm faster then even someone in Robe .

I like the idea, except why would anyone where plate if everyone in leather and robes would just outrun, range them down?

coz plate have uber protection and in mount you still as fast and you may have + to atack and deffense when rideing ;) plate still woud be uber like that..
But way I made this threade the reason a question too, way now anyone wear a robe or leather? :confused:

The Encumbrance (sp) penalty is not in the game for Archery or Melle yet. When it is added, I think things will even out some. We will have to wait until they get it all in the game and see how it works out from there.

Okay. I'll give you the running slower on rocks without shoes (though i'm sure you'd run fast if someone was trying to kill you), but you can run just as fast on ice and sand as everyone else. In fact you actually have more of an incentive to go fast because you feet would be freezing or burning depending upon the temperature.

brawlers hit worth crap but don't ever die. rangers hit decent and live decent. casters/steathers hit like trucks and shatter like glass.
it's how it's always been in every game ever made except this one.

The penalty is in the game, it's just that armored archery and armor profiency totally negate it.
There needs to be a penalty connected to weight and sprint speed/jump height/stamina drain.
I would say buff all the metal armor protections, make people in metal armor slower, introduce better leather armors (more expensive tailoring etc) and make robes better for casting than studded+unburden

The only really broken thing is robes are pretty useless.. the other stuff is ok tho maybe unburden is to good of a spell.
Full plate is already so expensive that no one uses it, ditto with dragon and infernal, so the highest lvl of armor is effectively scale+a few pieces of plate. Nerfing that armor more wouldnt do anything, its already so bad that no one wears it.
If they wanted to make high lvl armor that was effective it would need much better magic mitigation and would need to be basically be a melee only armor type and turn the guys wearing it into tanks... but atm its just to expensive and breaks to fast and you still get raped by magic(which everyone has because there are no skill caps) If you are getting hit often by people in melee you are prolly doing something wrong, they dont need to be slower.
I will agree tho that the game lacks a real pure melee role(because armor is so expensive and not balanced well) as well as a robed mage role, neither are in any way effective atm... tho robed mage is only slightly gimped cause they just give up a few resists an enchants.

We need armor diversity - in a way to have a selection with it's cons and pros that will effect the playstyle.
Also reducing the speed with some armour is major change that might cause more harm than good. I say make it effect the stamina drain and probably the swing/shoot speed by little margin.
Anyway - balancing armours this way is hard task to do and probably won't take only few days.
