View Full Version : Mastery and Skills on Mobs?

I've seen people with insanely high weapon skill and masteries attained by bindstone farming, enabling them to hit up to 27s with a basic newbie polearm, whilst others do up to 17s with a shearsword (Shy of less than 1-2 extra damage of a polearm usually).
Now that means in a regular fight something would be like this:
26 - 27 - 28 - 25 - 26 - 29 = 161 damage
15 - 17 - 16 - 14 - 15 - 16 = 93 damage
And that's with me with 66 GS against someone with 80 Polearms and 43 Mastery. They do almost double the damage and even with this huge disadvantage I manage to get them to 1/4 of their health before dying in a duel.
Does anyone know any monsters/mobs that you can specifically farm with melee that drop stuff worth it to the effort? I know of some winter creature he mentioned but I forgot, and I don't mean "bugging" them, even if I can entrap them in an area where I can hit them over and over, would be fine.

First off, with a redreach your numbers are off. If you were being hit that hard with redreach, it was back shots.

Goblins.
Go in with a few rank 0 weapons of your choice and some leather armour.
The bow + arrows goblins drop can be used for leveling archery.
The leather goblins drop can be used for creating leather armour to replace your stuff as it breaks (exchange it with a tailor for crafted armour).
The reagents shaman drop can be used for leveling spells
Goblins hit so gently that you can use them to raise your parry skill.
Goblins drop food and pots to make your life simpler.
All the other crap they drop can be vended for gold to replace your rank 0 weapon of choice. If your raising 1h axe/sword you don't even need to worry about this as the gobbos drop them!
If your looking for generic skill-up mobs you will be hard pressed to find anything better than goblins. You will easily make 500-800g profit an hour off them ontop of the skill leveling, just through the gold they drop and the crap they have that can be vendored. All from a location so close to a tower you almost feel like your playing WoW.
Seriously, its stupid. Goblin spawns are almost too good.

1. No.
2. Bows? Shit and Arrows? I can make them myself, so no.
3. Leather? Too small quantity and 2 leather per kill is equivalent to 6GP, so no. (Rare in kills)
4. Reagents from Shamans aren't that good and only include the schools earth, fire and Rend from GM.
5. Goblins don't hit 'gently' they just annoy.
6. They drop minor potions which are useless and "bread/fish on a stick".
7. They don't drop greatswords.
Seriously are you trying to treat me like I just joined? I have well over 50k in gold and I've got loads of surplus, I'm trying to find mobs that I can skill up from 67-75+

I guess you can move on to trolls thenNo, I'm looking for mobs with hundreds of health that take about 15 minutes of nothing but autoclicking or slamming down attack to kill with melee, so I can train my skill on them without dying.

You are a few patches too late....those mobs are called recently dead players at bind stones with immunity. Too bad for some of us that didn't exploit this to get our mastery. Other than that you will not find mobs that have tones of health that do not kill you with 4-5 hits. If I am not mistaken there is a spot of Black Knights that you can get to a spot where you can melee but the Black Knight cannot fight back. On the other hand I heard that someone got banned for this exploit....while they should have done something about those that used the bindstone people exploit. What can I say AV works in strange ways.

I'm treating you like someone who's not trying to exploit the game.
You can try to go and bug a mob to exploit your skills up if you want. I just hope your in-game name is different to your forum name. If not your doubly thick.
If you don't want to exploit the game mechanics then your next best bet is to find easy little mobs that drop you all the basics you need to keep cheep gear sets going while hitting you for very little damage allowing you to continually hit them without having to go for rest periods.
The mass of shitty food and potions goblins drop that you can scoff as and when you get them, combined with the paltry amount they hit you for and the additional drops they provide that can be crafted into, or vendored for, more disposable gear makes them the premium skill-up mob...if your not a cheating piece of shit.
Why don't you just skip the formalities and go download a hack to let you float around under the ground. then you can go beat on the mobs feet without them striking you back
For others reading this thread- OP is a cunt, attempt to help him at your own risk.

kind of sucks they give us few melee vs melee monsters and then screw us over on ways to gain melee.
