For those of you who have 100 archery and possibly a decent chunk of the +damage passive skill...with a decent rank 50-80 bow, how is the damage? I'm still torn between magery and archery.
I've been working mainly on archery (at 50ish skill) and I definately enjoy the arc/lead skill involved with this archtype...but hearing reports of mages nuking naked targets for upwards of 70 damage is giving me the urge to start the bone grind ;P

Im not a high lvl archer, im only lvl 20, but i started training archery 2 days ago and ive barely used it but im already level 20... and there is ONE archery not multiple different kinds like there are magic. Maybe its fair if magic is a little bit more powerful than archery, but its more expensive, harder to lvl, takes a long time.
Besides even if magic does more damage its...
More load when you come to cast.
Slower.
Different skills in a bar so harder to use than rapidly firing one relatively highly powered skill, (such as archery)
Mages feel free to disagree... i feel a flame coming on.

Oh I agree with you. Even if mages can put up higher numbers, there is still a lot to be said about archery. I'm just curious what sort of numbers high-end archers are puting up. Because atm, with 50 archery and a rank 20 bow I don't, and probably never will, begin to reach 70 damage. Just hoping high ranked bows + high archery skill = a good bit more than I'm doing currently (which is 15 front/low 20s back...not much different from where I first started at skill 1).
I don't mind the long road tbh, if magery turns out to be more of what i'd like to do. I mean, this is Darkfall afterall. I expect I'll be working on this same character for a long time to come.

you dont even need a high rank archery, use a better bow if your at lvl 50 archery, im assuming you have bowyer mastery, make a few r40s and you will see a damage difference.
Im at lvl 20 and im using rank 30s and doing decent damage, i would tell u how much but im not on game atm, lets jus say i kill a kobold scrapper in about 5 hit without it touching me

since the wapon have some sort of modifier, I guess the highter your archery and dex skills are the more effect higher bows will have.

Archery is op everyone knows that, even in melee range, you deal 20-34dmg in front to people at rly fast speed :/

I've met a few guys dishing out 40'ish damage 'smack', 'smack', 'smack' really quickly. And its really a question of damage over time, and range. The dps of an maxed out archer will be hard to beat with magic.

Actually not.
I'm a maxed out archer with decent aim.
I've recently fought a naked fire mage.
We both hit every shot.
When he died I had less than 1/2 hp and I'm pretty sure he was not even close to maxing his fireblast spell or whatever he used against me (hitting 28-38 in front).

the spell 2 travel very fast bout same speed as arrows but cost 10 times more than a arrow and arrows seem 2 do more dmg from what it takes 2 lvl magic just to the point of using elemental magic.

The fact you're fucking crippled and can hit people for shit doesn't mean everybody sucks ass. If I could hit him every shot why wouldn't he be able to do the same?

90 archery skill, rank50 bow, 45 from behind on naked
i think it will be like a 55 on naked from behind with all archery skills on 100% with r60 bow
there is BIG diffrence between archery 25 r20 and archery 90 r20

I wanted to go full magic, obviously not viable. I raised my PA and I got archery because it's better then magic, which is sad.
