Ork weapon choice

As an Ork, if I were to go 2h. Should I 100% go axe? isn't that our racial weapon?

If I prefer 2h Sword would I be losing out on a lot?

Seriously. Greataxe, all the way. Even if it is gimped, is the only "orkish" weapon.

It's not so gimped, my Co Supreme General uses Great axes, and they rip shit up.
Greatswords do have more potential but take a larger amount of skill to use, since you have to make every hit count to win. I'd suggest raising your quickness, str, and Vit to at least 40 each, before you do anything else, this can be done via swimming, mining, logging, and just movement of any kind.

Once you have a decent quickness, you will swing almost as fast as a greatsword, and with a high str, you will be dealing out a lot more damage. We've been testing reach since they rebalanced it in the laat patch, and it seems to be on par, or maybe just a little shorter.

All in all, if you have a good ping, good twitch, and enough stam to run around in circles swinging like a mad man, go sword. If you would rather lead your opponent in to massive swings with an Axe, and just play some what defensively, go Axe.

If you want to be queer, and assume that pole is best (it's not) then go pole arm :)

Two handed swords are excellent far and away better than axes atm. I am an orc with 80 greatswords and 32 mastery. The fact that the orc racial is an axe has no bearing with anything at all......

Its this, and new players starting the game saying 'I'll start PvPing when I have 75 in my weaponskill' that makes me wonder what makes you guys at all turn the game on until X is achived. Really.

I really wish people were as lazy as me, and skilled/stat up by playing the game and doing stuff.

I'm an Ork using sword and board, got 30 in 2H axe before I changed but wondering if it's worth me using the 2H axe as the backup 2H weapon because I atleast got this far? Or should I just pick up a 2H sword anyway?
