Is this true?

I mean, do people really sit there for weeks on end cutting a tree, or mining a rock? How long has this game been out, how the fuck do people have ten THOUSAND ingredients??

Is this all scripting? It boggles my mind. I've sat for an hour or two before I want to shoot myself, and come out with maybe 100?

A clan grove for example, will drop 3-4 timber per hit, a grove has around 3-4k resources before it will run out and then regen at a rate of around 60 resources per hour. Or wait until server restarts, then its full again.

It has been what, like 6 weeks since launch? so yes, its possible.

they could also be part of a clan where a clan pools resources together to sell because they don't have anything to build. Or they could get it frmo killing other harvesters

why to do so much effort when you can hunt down the other sellers by setting up a trap? ... and usually they have more to offer.

Because a smart trader will do things in a certain order. Esp for large orders. Break it into small transactions (for example)

As well as initiate counts, to close trade windows and transfer to the bank...as well as not do work (conduct trade) in certain towns.

Now you can pwn newb traders all day long, but the ones who know what they are doing, you may get a hit on em, but you will not get much (if anything).

Besides, geeking over a trader is not something which suits your long term interests. Is jacking 1k worth of stone or wood, really worth the long term imprecations? (for something you will probably lose the 1st time you get ganked afterwards) The more business you do with traders, the cheaper it traditionally gets. I've personally lowered prices to committed buyers between .2 -.5. When ore exploded and ingots were at 10, I kept my ingots at 8 (20% reduction). Consequently I cleaned up....because I kept my prices competitive to my crafter merchants.

They eventually bought other things from me, and now I can move merchandise rather fast. I even broker deals (for 5% commission) for other people/clans.

Setting a trap for a merchant, is a good way to cut off your nose to spite your face, for a meager short term gain.

We have a guy in clan that has had 100lumber + mastery and 100 mining + master for awhile now. He doesn't even macro when hes non-afk...its mind boggling. He's also in game like 20 hours per day lol.

Now pair him off with a timber quarry or a mine.....then think of the numbers hes producing.

There are people like this in the game. Just because we can't even fathom the idea....it doesn't mean someone doesn't enjoy it.

Hell I logged close to 1000 timber yesterday so its not like 10k would b very hard if I really tried.

You can get like 2000 timber/iron pretty quick if you gather at a clan's grove/mine after the server comes up :p

LoL^....

If you know the correct places/mobs that produce a lot of items at once or per go it really doesn't take much effort... Or time....

Just gotta know the right way to go about it that requires the least effort and time.

Actually harvesting in this game is sort of fun...because of the ganking. Esp with jack for combat skills.
