And one server Crash or if ship down.. that's over

Yeah the astrolab is a rare drop in leenspar chests, they're not worth 75k though. I've seen them sell for 3-5k on race alliance chat (that is, if it's not a way to gank you for that 5k :p).

And people, just be patient, the costs of ships are extremely high now, but the game has been out for 6 weeks. Do you really want to get the high end content dried out and explored within 2 months?

Thats more of a workaround, and works really bad for ships.

The real fix would be have the person who last rode/steared the mount/ship to have it in the backpack after a crash.

But Darkfall is a Sandbox he dont have "Endgame" Ships is not engame.

i dont mind putting ALOT of effort into getting a ship but what pisses me off ALOT is that as far as i can see the 15 mod ship is one of the advanced rafts!!!

in my opinion the first propper ship is teh pinnance which i think needs 65 mods? I might be wrong but if im not thats fucking retarded - the 3 advanced rafts should not need mods, just more expensive versians of the simple raft

Are you sure about this? It must pretty damn rare if it's coming from a Leenspar chest, I've opened several and my clanmates have opened even more, and still nothing. I'm not too worried about the price yet, seeing as gold is easy to farm, and I can just buy all the materials I need.

All of this is wrong. Pinnace is the easiest ship to make, at 15 modules. I think the rafts are more like barges than they are rafts though.

The reason I assumed the pinnacle cost 65 was because in game you can create 10 figurine pictures in chat for all the ships in game. Considering there are 10 levels of mats - 15, 30, 56, 65, 90, 250, 375, 1000, 2000, and 10 ships including the rafts, i guessed the first 3 levels belonged to the rafts.

anyone who sells them for 5,000g will need to go see a doctor, some of the rarest items in the game.

Yeah, I heard from someone that they were farming them for 4 hours a day for a little under 2 weeks and they were considerably surprised when one dropped.

On a serious note, the amount of fucking farm and grind for shit is disgusting, and if these items really are just an endless battle with the RNG (as it seems they are) Aventuine need to massively re-evaluate their implementation of core crafting mechanics (haha scale boots and gloves).

I think the bigger point is that the astrolabe should be craftable. Don't want to see massive ships out so early or by individules? That can be done but simply making the cost insanely hard to achieve and putting a day/week cool down timer on some of the parts.

We can achieve both things, making ships rare (at least the big ons) and making it so I am not forced to pve so I dont have to pay an extra 20k-75k gold on top of the high ship prices.

You first number (75k in your forumula) should say Market Value.

Right now ships are all new and sexy, so there is an initial rush. Sure, they will stay in high demand but it will die down a bit once everyone gets the first ship they want.

I also have no problem with the amount of materials it takes to build a ship, since it is meant to be a group effort. The mats you listed are closer to one of the smallests boats, and any medium size guild should be able to get enough mats to make multiple boats. The only real problem right now are those astrolabes.

I agree in as much as the only problem now is the astrolabe. The supply/demand market forces determining the prices is a good thing and works only if the supply (astrolabe) is generated by the participants of the market (players).

and cloth and leather and selentine ore and fiend claws and and and... all the crafted items require some drop only items at some point. Astrolobes are that point for ships. Seems pretty intentional and i don't see a reason to change it. Drop rates maybe but base process no.

This is what happens on LAND. If you crash while mounted in the water your mount stays at the point where you crashed and you respawn at your bind point.

First person to swim out to it gets a free ship?

You are very much correct that this is a mechanism for controlling supply of ships. MY contention is that pve is being forced upon us to partake in a pvp aspect of the game. Remember what this game was supposed to be about? Freedom.

I have no problem with them making a bottle neck for supply but they need to change it so its not relient upon pve.

That, or at least only have the big ships need these astrolabes and allow the average joe be able to harvest and craft for small 1 or two gun ships.
