Which two hander has the quickest swing speed?

I mean as in swings per minute not the animation.

Greatswords, if you don't count knives.

I am just wondering what the point of great axes is then. They seem to do less damage than swords but have a slower rate of fire and lesser reach while both do slashing damage.

But their range has been a bit borked I believe.
