Since I haven't seen this properly answered I'll go ahead and ask. Can you make mounts other than your race's mount? I have gotten my tamming to 25 and I still can't.

yea I was hoping you'd be able to at 50 since taming is a lot like the herbalism skill and thats when you unlock the higher lvl potions.

I have only crafted 2 mounts so far and my skill is pretty low, but has anyone thought of trying to create a mount in another land? Lets say an alfar (like me) goes to mirdain and tries to create a mount. It may then be possible to create a mirdain mount! (just a thought) if i make 1 more i will try it.

The list of recipes you see for any craft is generated by the device (table or tool) you use to bring up the window. You see the entire list, regardless of whether you meet prerequisites. Prerequisites include materials, skill level, and for some items, race.
Everyone the same whistle, so it shows every race's mounts. You will only ever meet the racial prerequisite for one, but they're all available from the whistle. The same is true of alchemy stations (rank 0 and rank 80 racial staffs for every race are displayed), and I assume it's also the case for racial weapons in Weaponsmithing and Fletching.

Our tamer purchased the skill in another race's home city, and now tames that racial mount. We've speculated (but have not confirmed) that you may be able to purchase the skill in multiple racial cities, so that you could tame multiple racial mounts. This would explain why all the figurines are visible during the crafting process.

yea that would make sense but say your anything but an alfar, as far as i know so far you cannot get the ability to tame their mounts since they will slay your face.
also i didnt know you could purchase the skill in different lands.

What about this rumor that the higher your taming skill is, the more durable your mount will be?
Anyone test this?

Got mine in dwarf area and cant make dwarf mounts.

It's been said that racial mounts are specific to your character's race.
That said, I am a human character who bought the taming skills from an Orcish City and can only make the human horse mount.

why make them when you can loot them?
why make them when you can loot them?
If you try to think you would understand that it is impossible for everyone to loot mounts since there would be no looted guys. Mounts die too. Hope you're fed now :D

It might be possible that one can learn to tame the Mounts of racial allies... Have heard that Mahirim can tame Death pigs (their Orcish Allies mounts), so it might be possible that Humans, Mirdain and Dwarves can learn taming each others´Mounts. Or maybe just the Mahirim that can tame Death Pigs are the only ones who can train others mounts...
Of what race was your tamer, and what Mount can he train?
Anyone else that got any experience of this?

Well I'm going to go ahead and spill the beans here since I'm probably one of very few on the server with 50+ taming skill.
Q: Can I tame mounts of the other races?
A: NO. At 50 skill and human, I can still only tame the human horse. (Unless it comes at 75 or 100 skill, the answer is no)
---
Q: Is there something significantly better with higher taming skill?
A: Sortof. We repeatedly tested one of my 50+ horses against a horse tamed by someone of 22 skill. After several careful tests where the EXACT same amount of damage was done to each horse (tallied up via the system messages for damage done) until it was as close to HALF health as possible, we came to the following conclusion:
The t0 horse (22 skill) has approximately 400 hitpoints.
My t2 horse (51 skill) has approximately 450 hitpoints.
So in conclusion, it looks like the health of the mount goes up very slightly from 1-50 taming skill. It's not a significant amount, and honestly isn't worth all the hard work put into taming hundreds and hundreds of horses to get there. This crafting skill needs better rewards for the future... hopefully something between 75-100 skill.
How did I tame so many horses you ask?? One word answer:
HYPERION!

Well if theirs 2 armies of 300 people, 1 has your t2 horses and the other has t0 horses, the t2 army is going to have 15,000 more hp then the other army if everyone stays on horseback.
