I just got the game today and have been collecting alot of stone and sulfur should i just sell it to an NPC vendor or would it be more worth it to sell to another player?

Stone and Stone is 0.1g per at vendors.

Sulfur will sell around 2g to players. The REAL money is in metal nodes, not stone. Metal is at least 3-4x more valuable than stone, and people WILL fight for them. In fact, they'll pretty much guaranteed come looking for you mining alone and likely having some iron on you they can steal quickly from you helpless fingers.

You have two choices: go far, far away from town and hope your remote location just isnt worth visiting to take your ore OR make your money on something safe and close to the town walls, like wood. That said, mining is THE most profitable newb activity, and the most risky.

Mmm some people would say chump killing naked crafters at the forge, smelter, or crating table pay the very most, followed by killing solo miners not less than 3 minutes after they've been making noise, so they can work a while before you "harvest" them.

I say it that way so you know how some people are. I personally never jumped someone except in self defense; I'm generally the jumpee rather than the e-rapist. But in general, I'd say you should be crouch walking in the grass at night far far away from town and /bindstone_recall after getting 50-60 ore MAXIMUM. If you still lost your pick and whatever you have with you 2 tries in 3 you'd still get something. Be prepared to take a lot of risk.

Nah. There's plenty of nodes in tower range. Just take some time and scout the area. I'm at Dragrenoth (Ork area) and have about eleven nodes near the city and ~5 a bit more remote. I never go out naked, always studded/chain combo, sword 'n' board and in most cases I got pvp stuff with me (few resin, pots, food, archery). That way I can protect myself, and in most cases I manage to escape. Since Drag is a sea city I don't have a mount with me, but that's something you want to consider. When I compare my stamina drain at mining 1 to mining 100 today I think there's a great difference. I mine for about 15 items, then rest. I never go below 75% stamina. This way I always empty 2-4 nodes, then go back to bank. Might be a bit risky, but on the other hand I never lost more than 30 ore when being ganked.
