Yeah, they're dicks. Although, when you look at it from the perspective that it's not really immortality, the system as it's developing now has no real benefit for a person with an IQ of 110 and no real desire to help others; where as a brilliant scientist that dedicates their life to improving the world around them could die happy knowing their mind will benefit humanity for many years to come.

This is a pretty common myth. The demographic argument is ridiculous. Liberalizing trade and enterprise eliminated famine in the western world. Here in America, we still produce more than enough food. If we were only allowed to trade it more freely, it wouldn't be as big of a deal.

Also, inflation has a detrimental effect on food prices. When trade isn't liberalized and prices are too high, of course you're going to get problems.
