Which mobs drop rank 40 greatswords and where can I find them?

there seems to be lack of soloable mobs that drop 2handers. I was looking for a while for ones that drop high rank polearms so I could stockpile a bunch of em to use whenever i felt like it but no luck. It also seems that mobs that drop any weapon of rank arnt safely soloable. and when you go with groups all the weapons that do drop are split between everyone there.
I think its just better to stock pile gold and then setup a deal with a crafter to buy in bulk. That way you get crafted weapons which are better, and gold is much easier and less time consuming to solo

again a group of 3 or 4 people can farm undead dwarfs in their dungeon, or snow clan mobs, which drop 2h Bunt weapons, and r40 pole arm, plus some 1h blunt weapons that suck you can stock pile them though.

Bump to top.
I would also like to know.
Also, weapons can only be used according to skill right? Skill 40 can use r40 weapons? I've never gotten a definite answer on that.

yeah ok, so with 3 or 4 ppl you can eventually get a good pile going. though they dont drop it every kill and your still splitting it among those ppl. and then with a small group like that you run the risk of a larger group coming in behind you and just killing all of you, thus losing all time spent.
Not a bad idea to run through a dungeon when you pass by it tho and become the gankers. has worked well quite a few times for me. So go for it if you want but its at your own risk.

Anyone can use any rank of weapon. Whether there are disadvantages is not completely known.
I believe the way the weapon ranking system works is if you use your current skill level of weapon, IE. R40 weapon with 40 skill in your weapon skill, then you do a little bit more damage and the weapon doesn't lose its durability as quickly as it would with someone with a lower skill equiping it. However, anyone can equip any rank of weapon. It just won't be very effecient at a lower skill.
Just my 2 cents

I can confirm that Shadow Knights do indeed drop r40 2 handers, Alfar Flamberge to be precise (from the ones I farmed), the spot I used can be found at the dungeon just north-east of Rubaiyat, on one of the islands.

Yeah and full plate pieces sometimes. The rank 70 sword must be broken or something, it does so low damage (0.35) but i think it's supposed to do lightning damage.

Prices are going up.. the crafters are revolting. :( 300g for a r40 bow instead of 190g. And I've never seen a weaponsmith advertise r40 weapons.

How strong is their ranged attack, if they have one?

lightining dmg bypass armor, usually ppl have 1-2 on res lithing where have 8-10 in slash
less dmg this sword do normal better is, since the majority of dmg go to lightning, tbh is more effective vs armored ppl than naked

You can use any rank weapon BUT the higher the rank away from your skill the faster it breaks.

That's because they are practically worthless. I can craft R40 weapons, but since the stats are based off weaponsmithing mastery the stats are generally inferior to mob drops.
Also, I have R40 2H swords to sell in the human area if anyone is interested. Please PM me or reply here with your full in-game name.

They have multiple high end magic spells that can hit for up to 50. The ones on Rubaiyat the he was talking about can be MMd down fairly safely from a platform at the top of a set of stairs.
They drop a good amount of regs, r40 2h sword, an a decent shield on every kill. They also have a chance to drop a piece of full plate and a r70 sword. They can drop any piece of full plate including the gloves and boots. The sword does 2 types of damage and thats why its damage would appear to be low. It hits once for physical damage and another time for lightning damage with each swing.
There are also several SKs that spawn aolo that can be easily killed on a mount.
