I'm hoping its out by 2007, but I want it now. :D

EDIT: That being said, I think I might be able to deal with a longer wait knowing that when it is released it'll be done right.

The release date will be very competitve with Dark and Light Online. We all know without playing DnL that DFO is a superior game, but it's always best to be first or at least tie with your main competitor as many people who purchase a game won't be quick to purchase another one from the same genre right afterward.

That being said, I'm guessing April/May 2006.

I went to check it out, and I can't even figure out WTF it is.
Kind of hard to get interested in a game that can't even explain its main concept.
The FAQ entry for "What is Settlers of Ganareth" just rambles onto other topics without even explaining what it is:

Except what's the point of closing registration for clan beta nearly a full year in advance of your estimate? Also my understanding was clan/solo beta was the same time, just different registration periods.

I'm going to go with Q1/Q2 2006 Beta and possibly Q3/Q4 2006 or Q1/Q2 2007 depending on how successful Beta is, and whether or not there are any setbacks during Beta.

Persoanlly I would go with beta in February or March 06, release FALL/WINTER 06. They have mentioned beta previously and all that but never before have we seen as much media or heard that the game is as far done as it seems. What appears to have happened was they started on the game in 01 with a small team producing somewhat lacking results. They formed a larger team, moved to Greece, and began working on a much more sophisticated system to allow them to "more easily add content" and such to the game as well as make a more enjoyable gameplay experiance. I highly doubt that they will rewind and start coding all over again so hopefully they won't be missing the beta mark by 2 years (2003 to now) again, just maybe by a few months.

Well alpha was fairly buggy, so they let me play it for a bit, but when I hit on some massive errors, they told me to come back when it was in the internal beta stage. Now I run into a bug maybe once every two days or so, but the game plays like a dream for the most part.

This game is not coming out.

Like most artists, the hardest part is knowing when to quit. These guys want it perfect on release and that won't happen. There will always be something more to add to do something better.

No host mentioned and no decision to self host. This means, no beta and no stress test.

No post for customer support hires or additional staff.

My best guess, mid-2009 if ever.

That's what they say. However they announced countless dates for open beta before and obviously none of them were met. You can't trust them on their word alone.

After a few test trials, they found the atmosphere was great before opening to the public and having noobs run around speaking leet and too many griefers roam the lands. They then decided to keep it through invitation only. Since they have all the players they need, it's now a closed game.

No official release date yet, but just to give you an idea gamestops preorder delivery date is sept. 09. That will definately change by a few months though so expect it to be a holiday release. It will come with an expansion pack preinstalled so your wait is worth it!!

The release date will be very competitve with Dark and Light Online. We all know without playing DnL that DFO is a superior game, but it's always best to be first or at least tie with your main competitor as many people who purchase a game won't be quick to purchase another one from the same genre right afterward.

That being said, I'm guessing April/May 2006.
