The sun peeked over the horizon, its intense rays slowly flooding the cold morning shade. A cool breeze blew through the land, lifting the autumn leaves in a gentle dance. Through the skies, a lone bird soared. It dipped and dived, whipped and weaved, not a care in the world. On the ground, far below, it spied a figure; large and unmoving. A new day was dawning.
The Day of the Dinosaur.
Theodore Rex was just chilling out by the water. Dinosaurs love to chill out, but are still totally bad-ass. They are kind of like prehistoric ninjas. One minute they could be doing the gardening or some other un-threatening activities, and the next they could be eating some guy. T-Rex, as he was known to those inside his close social circle, was a Tyrannosaurus rex. Tyrannosaurus rex are at least in the top 10 dinosaurs. Like fish, the plural form of Tyrannosaurus rex is the same as the singular. They have heaps of teeth and were once the king of the jungle but then got bored and gave their crown to the lion, so that they could have more time to just chill out. However, anytime they wanted, they could easily waste all the lions and take their crown back.
Theo chilled out in the sun, relaxing. Out of the corner of his eye he spotted a stegosaurus babe checking him out. She was totally fit. At least an 8. One sweet thing about being a dinosaur is that the ladies are naked all the time. Theodore felt a stirring in his loins. 'Now, now Colt,' he thought, 'settle down.' He called his penis Colt because it was like a small horse. There was no way he was going to interupt his chilling out for some chick but one day he would lay down the mad rap for her and then she'd be laying his eggs in no time. Velociraptors are widely considered to be the most proficient hip-hop artists, they are like black people without the stigma. However, T-Rex had pretty good abilities.

Chapter II
T-Rex suddenly charged at a human base, because he is unpredictable. They had a pretty sweet set up, there were walls, towers, buildings, cannons, no gate though. Theodore guessed that there were about 200 people inside, he had no idea really but knew it would sound way more badass if there were that many.
"Pew...pew, pew...pew," the cannons opened fire on the dinosaur. The T. rex smiled and used his tail like some sort of prehistoric baseball bat that was really large and looked like a tail to whack all the cannonballs back into the walls, destroying them. Some dinosaurs have spikes on their tails, imagine that. Heaps of guys ran out to try and stop the mighty beast. Theo bent down and bit off the head of the first human that got to him, he would have probably have died already but he stayed alive because it looks awesome when the dinosaur tosses him up into the air and then swallows him whole. After seeing this display of awesomeness, at least 85% of the guys got way too scared and took off. Kickin ass. Theo wasted the guys that stayed by using really sweet methods.
A mighty boom almost startled Theo. He spun around. Another boom. In the distance he could see trees crashing to the ground, clearing a path through the forest. A path heading straight for him.
The Tyrannosaurus rex dug his hind claws into the hard earth. He lowered himself to the ground, ready to strike. Out from the darkness of the trees came a towering figure, it raised its head and a piercing screech filled the air.
Trike.
It's on.
The two dinosaurs stood perfectly still, neither one going to break the other's stare. Trike was a triceratops, and was T-Rex's mortal enemy. The triceratops' menacing laugh broke the silence, "Hello, old friend," he taunted.
Theo ignored the attempted provocation. "What are you doing here Trike?" his voice boomed.
All of the birds flew out of their trees, blackening the sky and throwing a blanket of darkness over the clearing. Some awesome hard rock music started up and heaps of lasers lit up the arena.

But seriously, don't you get tired of the same old roleplays, over and over again? The same characters, that everyone creates? Wizards, knights, mercernaries, assassins, pirates, orcs? Dull backstories about murdered family, erased memories, a farmboy in search of adventure and fame? It's all done to death.
People are bored. Look at the forums, the PvE section has more people viewing it than the RPing forum. For god's sake, 'Art!' is more popular than here!
I am just trying to show people that there are alternatives to the cookie-cutter roleplay of today. It's possible to still be original, not everything has been done a thousand times. I want to generate a bit of interest and passion around here, get people excited about roleplay.

My roleplaying is just fine.
The Hand-Guide's not done yet, not nearly done. It has a long life ahead of it and I intend to make a story that's more than just a "cookie-cutter" story.

Then I'll agree with you, the characters have gotten rather generic, but the plots are what set Roleplaying stories apart. That, and the writing style that the author uses, and how good he is at it.

I'd prefer 'alternative', but horrible will do I guess. It takes a certain breed of people to truly understand my RP. There's a surprising amount of depth and meaning behind it.

You're giving human emotions to creatures that aren't human.
Tons of meaning. The dinosaur would probably realize that if the female dinosaur is "chilling" that means she's either maimed, tired or birthing, any one of which means she's not available.
Tons of depth.

Tons of depth.Lets not forget chapter twos many flaws, but we should probably stop bumping it. Love the hand guide by the way.

If you read it properly you will see that I never mentioned that the female was "chilling". And even if she was, being maimed, tired or birthing could quite possibly be an advantage to an interested party, such as Theodore.

Such as? I wouldn't expect someone like you to be able to grasp and fully comprehend my roleplay. Fawkes, I have at least some hope for, you, not so much.

True, but I dont believe that many of the few people who read this forum (Besides Tyx) would enjoy/understand it. Maybe if we had a Fanfiction forum it would fit in there better, but thats just my opinion.

Okey... Somehow my understanding of what you said there; Was that you do not believe most of those who read this forum would enjoy or understand this thread, beside "me"... :p
Anyway, to explain what I mean with not able to stand with this type of rp threads; is that even if taken seriously, you are explaining "your character" as being the most bad-ass and etc. If the re-reading the following quotes from your story does not help you understand, I'm not going to attempt to explain it. :rolleyes:

Chapter 3
Theodore's eyes narrowed into tiny slits, not once straying from the triceratops' gaze. The two beasts began stalking each other around the outside of the clearing. An obnoxious smirk appeared on the herbivore's smug face. Like everyone, Theo couldn't stand vegetarians. 'I hate vegetarians,' he thought to himself. Hippie pricks. While properly planned vegetarian diets have been found to satisfy the nutrional needs for all stages of life, many dinosaurs lack the mental capacity to organise such a diet. As a result, they do not get enough vitamins. Eventually, this makes them evil.
"Get out of here Trike," he warned.
The triceratops snorted.
"Do you know what Tyrannosaurus rex means?" inquired Theodore.
"What the fuck are you talking about Theo?"
"It means tyrant lizard king. That sounds awesome. I don't know what half of those words mean, but it sounds awesome. Do you know what triceratops means?"
Trike fumed and muttered something under his breath.
"No? It means three-horned face. That's not even anything to do with cool features or special abilities, it's just pointing out something blatantly obvious about your physical appearance. It sounds retarded."
Tears streamed down the triceratops' face, "I hate you Theodore rex, I hate you!"
The herbivore screamed in frustration and pain, then spun around and ran back off into the forest.
T-rex sighed in relief. He was panting rather heavily, that situation had really taken it out of him. It was probably about time to go chill out. Trike's whimpers began to fade into the distance.
...Your mother was good last night...
The triceratops' voice could only just be heard, picked up by the gentle breeze. Theodore made out every word. His face turned crimson. He roared. And ran.
