Been considering skilling up a secondary melee weapon for chasing people (since polearm has a small knockback you can't really use it while chasing someone)

Can't decide between 2h club or 2h sword.

Do they both have the same arc and range? and is there much difference between damage?

I'd say that 2H hamz0rz are ftw.

And that guy I killed before the patch, he started it..
Silly Bloods..

Arrows are for chasing tbh.

If your already using a 2h and want a second melee weapon you should probably go for sword and shield.

The ability to switch to mitigating 95% of all incoming damage at will can be a lifesaver in group fights.

Using two different two-handers is silly. If you want to hit people while chasing them just use a Greatsword and give up on the Polearm. Either that or switch to archery every time.

I believe hitting someone from behind with a melee weapon kills them faster than archery (Especially if they're trying to dodge your arrows and you may have to spend more time aiming), and the stamina cost may be lower as well.

EDIT: Actually, I think archery does more DPS anyway, but hitting someone with a melee weapon should be more stamina efficient.

archery
No shit sherlock. But If I'm directly behind someone, it would be inefficient to use a bow if I can just use a melee weapon :)

Well my polearm is at 40 skill and archery 52, so I don't plan on giving anything up. I do have plenty of time to skill up a third mastery though. And I'm considering hammers atm since they have bonus damage versus armor. Not sure if they have the same range as 2h sword though.

Why the fuck would you bother with anything else other than polearms / archery?

No one else does.

inefficient? ... Wow. You realize that skilling up an entirely different weapon and making sure you have said weapons equipped is probably grossly more inefficient yes?

Greatswords have the same range as polearms. All other weapons have inferior range, I wouldn't recommend hammers for chases.

Sword/Shield/magic user here. I play the character I like, not the fotm. (though I do think the next fotm will be sword and shield, and its nice to know I have a leg up on the competition!)

I use pole when fighting board a 2h sword when fighting a pole and a mace/sheild whn fighting a 2h

Then I have archery and magic for the runners

That and what do you do when mounted? 1macing ftw (lower bludgeon resist on most armors)

So yea it is viable to run more than one weapon type but I mostly use the 2h sword and keep the other 2 as noob weapons +dawnstaf

2H Sword. It has the same reach as the polearm with no knockback.

Don't waste your time with a second 2 hander, like someone said either raise a 1 handed with a shield, or your bow/magics.
