How can A be meaningless? You could have eternal life. Who cares if you aren't happy? eventually you'll convert yourself into a killer cyborg and have no need for emotions.

B.

Who gives a fuck if I'm poor, if I'm happy im obviously doing something right. Just because I can't purchase something doesn't mean I can't be happy.

Being poor doesn't mean being broke. Two completely different things, being rich would make me happy but that's not an option. I chose the best one.

To those of you who don't choose B., good luck assholes LOL.

I believe the answer has to be B depending on how you define happiness. If being poor made you happy why would you want to be rich? Sure to us that sounds great, but if by definition you were happy living in squalor in Africa than the answer couldn't possible be A since you wouldn't be happy and wouldn't want any of what you had.

Those of you who chose A didn't correctly define Happiness imo and therefore answered incorrectly...

But in this particular question it DOES... Happiness is just that, it means that you have everything you want no matter how stupid it may appear to others. The answer has to be B due to the wording of the question...

I've had both. Now I am somewhere in the middle. Not rich, not poor. I can buy things I want, but I can't afford to live in a 6,000 sq ft house. Not that I would anyways.

People have forgotten how to just "be" imo. When I started hunting about 6 years ago, I was sitting up in a tree stand, just relaxing, watching the woods come alive at dawn, and it was so cool.

It's so easy to forget how simple life really can be, and how we lose perspective being human.

While I would not really WANT to hunt for food everyday, it is nice to get back to the basics once and a while, and forget about cell phones, work, voice mails, traffic, ect.

If I was rich (multi-millionaire rich), I would buy 2 homes. 1 on the ocean in Cape Cod, and one up in Maine in the mountains. Both modest, and easy to maintain. Then I would just chill the fuck out, and never worry again.

Because he's a liberal who thinks that anyone who is rich must be unhappy and tries to comfort himself in the fact that he may be poor, but at least he's happy!

I'm a liberal? Huh, I never knew.

It's nothing to do with how things work in real life (although the fact is that being rich does NOT necessarily make you happy), it's a question of which you would prefer if you had to choose. Someone asked me this question a while ago and I thought it was interesting.

Weeking
03-27-2009, 02:06 PM
Assuming its about being a different person, not suddenly getting a lot of money or suddenly having an onset of euphoria, then: Being rich would be detrimental since rich people have fewer kids. Therefore poor and happy.

If it was a sudden onset, being happy would be a symptom of insanity or dementia and therefore no a good thing. Thus rich and unhappy.

Remember when cutting yourself used to just be something you did if you were horribly bored? I can remember sitting infront of the TV and my hand wandering to a toothpick or a fork or any sort of sharp object and just picking holes in myself. I can't remember how many times I've come across some random skin anomoly and just carved it out of my arm. I have a hole dug so deep in my leg that it's like a permanet crater just from stabbing at it with stuff.

you should go see a shrink man. I am serious.

I have, they put me on more serious drugs. I got addicted to them, started using them improperly, realized I was addicted, stopped taking them cold turkey (worst withdrawal I've ever gone through), and resolved to never pay attention to them again. I never actually recovered though, prior to this it was mostly a problem of being bipolar, some abusive family shit, etc (maybe kinda serious, but I would've dealt with it eventually). Now however, I have a whole suite of problems. Including never feeling awake, as if the world were shut away behind fog... See, my dopamine and serotonin production levels appear to have been permanently impaired by what they had me on (along with doing a few other marvelous things).

Ehm? You don't want to be happy because you're not happy?

I'll be more clear, being happy means you're satisfied (I'm taking this definition narrowly). I dislike the very concept of being satisfied, since it implies that I'm no longer progressing. I prefer interest and amusement.
