Epic Naked vs Full plate mounted fight

I met a war target from la rosa escarta out in the wilds of dwarflands and he is on an eradan with full armor even plate possibly and a shield and high level sword at least 40 rank probably.

Epic fight ensues with him charging me and me taking advantage of the polearm to range swipe his mount.I am down to less than 5% health a few times and manage to evade attacks by circling a small tree while ussing heal self.

Eventually the health of the mount drops to critical level and he flees I give chase and a few hits of mana missile cause the mount to finally meet its end.

Ofc he jumps off and charges me with full health and stamina and I am ofc low on both and on foot was no real contest.

So congrats on an epic fight to Codex Astartes you are pretty good at mounted combat but I'm better:)

I imagine this is a pretty rare occurance in DF and would love to hear of anyone else who has won a fight naked against mounted opposition.

i ran in between two rocks and crouched, then walked out the same end i walked in and sprinted behind some trees lol

I was naked with noob weapons traveling across the land with a friend when some mounted guy jumped me. After foolishly going in close on open ground and getting kicked a few times, I jumped in a lake and starting range bombing while he switched targets. Wasn't long before he was riding off to save his mount. If you stand and fight versus a mount especially with terrain to use, I think the advantage is yours. If you panic and run, you are dead. Just sprint to side-step as he rides in and quickly turn to hit the backside and polearms definitely help to keep the distance. And most importantly watch the kicks (maybe this no longer applies with the mount changes).

Mounted combat is difficult. A lot of factors can be in the footmans favor if he's using a polearm. And everybody uses polearms, so that works out in the footmans favor.

Near the end of beta I killed 2 hyperions that were dressed in chain/banded/plate mix, and 1 was mounted. They both had consumables and pots and good weapons, while I was naked with 3 apples I picked from a tree, lmao.

The guy who was unmounted had a mount on him, and both of them were just chock full of great equip... it was a nice draw, a very nice draw. Sucks that it was beta, lol.

While I think it's funny that you killed the mount out from under him. Isn't the fact that he was wearing full plate useless information, since you didn't kill him? Seems like you were just trying to draw more attention to this thread by calling it naked vs full plate when the armor he had on doesn't matter.

I had a plate halbred user vs. me naked with leafblade.

I fought him for about 30 minutes. He kept running around sprint around me.

he had the black plate on. What is funny, is that he chased me through a whole ocean onto a chaos stone island. I was on my way from nooby lands to nifilheim. So we fought and fought, and I was wining my stam was almost 1/2, and my health was 1/4. He apparently ran out of stamina and retreated to the water and started to swim away.

I decided f***k it, he has some cool plate that I want and a weapon, man my guild will get laughs over this. So I chase after him as he is out of stam, and has less then 1/4th health, less then me. So chasing in the water he has some distance on me, since I hesitated. And then he remembers to use more of those mana missiles that he spammed at me before. I don't have a staff, and die in the water at sea.

Was epic I guess you could say. Noobs, and froobs bring a staff it could get u gear vs a moron in plate.

It's easy as fuck to kill someones mount (1v1) when you're on foot, especially with a polearm. This is nothing special. If you had killed him after the mount died, I would've been impressed.

This happens all the time. I dont run around naked, but winning vs someone mounted aint a problem. Ive won when 2 mounts vs me naked before, and both mounts took off with 30% hp. Id love to see em dismount and try kill me, wouldnt have mattered. People are n00b!

I didn't win the fight but 2 days ago I had TONS of fun in a similar situation. The only difference was, there was 30 mounted enemies.

I bind recalled to B@D city because people said here was a large group of enemies raiding the city. I told me clan on vent that naked gratchek will save the day! and I ran out with my polearm swinging. Problem was, there was noone around.

I ask where my future victims were hiding and I was told the font gates so I proceeded to run out and kill them all. It was total chaos as I ran over the bridge only to see the mounted enemy running away! My boast was true! I scared them off! Ok so they were regrouping to go somewhere else....but holy hell it was funny that they did it was I was running towards them. We got a huge laugh from that and I was backed up with chants of "GO GRATCHEK!"

Anyway, I decided to find their regrouping location so I ran SE. I found them all at the top of a hill in the distance and I was offended that none wanted to meet my challenge.

I proceeded to shoot MM's as my staff was getting dusty and that really got some attention. Down the hill they came, all of them and what did they see before them? A naked staff wiedling Alfar running straight into them. I was jumping and landing on mount heads and all over the place shooting MM's straight down and all around as they hit each other trying to kill me.

My mana ran out ....omg....its time to bring out the polearm! I began swinging wildly and running and jumping like a crazy person until I finally fell.


Why was this fun? omg I was laughing on vent the entire time. It was crazy fun and I lasted a ridiculously long time. More people should try this rather than sitting naked at the bindstone. hehe

To translate that into Darkfall terms, picture someone who spent 2 years doing nothing but killing afk naked guys at chaos stones, making a video of said kills, then posting them as proof that he is the best PvP'er in the game.

I have more or less a full plate set which I have captured from various opponents and the odd mob.

As I dont run in 100 man gank sqauds this armor doesnt see the light of day often apart from the occasional clan pve/grinding operation.

It is far more satisfying to kill those with far better equipment than yourself anyway.One of the most interesting things about this game is the vast gulf between the ordinary average player and those who are really pretty good.

Against a great player in armor if I am naked and he is using better than starter weapons and pots/food/mounts etc I usually have no chance whereas the majority of average players it is easy enough to kill them naked even if they have equipment.

In naked 1v1s against an ordinary joe I will win without losing more than 25% of my health but against the odd really good player it will always be a very close fight and if they have better equipment than you then the odds are heavily in the armoured players corner.

Yes, honestly. I have yet to lose more than 1/2 my mount HP from fighting even multiple polearm users at a time.

Not exactly won, but at least not lost:

I was out gathering ore (with nothing but a pickaxe and starter weapons with me) when an Alfar attacked me on his drake. I took two hits until I realized what was going on, then I equipped my club and started clubbing - the mount almost lost no health at all, neither did the Alfar. After a while, when he couldn't hit me any longer the Alfar decided not to risk his stuff and fled, most likely in search for an easier target. Goblin Scouts or AFK-Swimmers or whatever.
