Hello, I just want to make a few suggestions concerning Tailoring. I love the Bags and Satchels we can craft. However, I think Tailoring needs to be fleshed out a little bit. let us make more clothes with different colors, and let us make robes that go over armor. I would love If we could make robes that go over or under armor with different patterns and colors. This will make tailors a lot more useful to our guilds.

Right now the armor we can craft is nice but it is incredibly expensive. I was exited when you guys put leather armor in and I tried to sell some to my guild mates. It was no surprise that they did not want anything to do with it. 175 gold and 50 leather for a set of armor? that is just crazy, you can make a set of scale for 70 gold 20 leather and 60 ingots. Noone in their right mind will choose leather over scale. You can shoot a bow in scale with no decrease in damage what so ever. Leather is better for the casters but for that you just buy a robe and put it on when casting.

Thanks a lot for reading my suggestions and I hope you take them seriously.

Completely back this 100%. There's close to no demand for tailored armor right now. I mostly sell to people looking for camouflage, since the leather armor blends in well with some terrains, or people who just like the look of it. Which would be fine - I was a tailor in SWG, and all I ever did was sell otherwise useless clothing to people who wanted it for the look - but currently it's way too expensive for that purpose.

The gold costs are way out of proportion with armorsmith, I agree. The leather can be easy to get in certain areas, though, but in others - all you have is the vendor. I would much rather have easier ways of getting leather than lowering the requirements (which seem fair, honestly).

There's also the matter of fact that most of the tailored items have only a fraction of a point bonus over dropped/vendored items. The robes/hoods have a huge durability increase over dropped items, but stats themselves are .1-.5 difference usually - not even remotely enough to create any sort of demand. The armor sets don't even get the blessing of a huge durability increase, either. Weaponsmith and armorsmith are both making items that are tremendously better than what's dropped - why isn't tailor?

That being said, the craft itself is good the way it is - just a few balancing issues that need to be worked out. :)

Thanks for backing me up Siddalee. Tailors have to stick together, there aren't many of us after all.

As I can see from this and other threads, crafting needs balancing as a whole. But it looks like it's a too complex issue to patch overnight, so I hope they really give it a thought before messing with the system (look what universal nodes did).

And on the side note: if any of you tailors has extravagant robes/leather set/assasin set or maybe a pair of fine clothes to sell in elf lands, I'll be interested.

Tailor should be able to craft leather armors. I specifically took the skill for some non shinny armor and I get to do some banded pieces, robes and bags : where the hell is my leather full set of armor ?

you do get leather armor, they added it 3 days ago in the new patch. also, you cant make banded so I don't know where you got that lol.

What should someone train from 50-75 and what from 75-100 in terms of better skill gain/cost ratio.

Also is there a master tailoring skill and what items do you get from that? If not it seems that bone armour is the best "light" armour you can get from crafting?

there is no Tailoring Mastery currently in the game. I leveled from 1 to 50 with cloth and padded arms. The hoods that you get at 25 and also good. From 50 onwards I do not know. Leather is currently too expensive so I cannot continue till I build up a lot more money :D.

I just reached 50 tailoring yesterday and I'm not sure what to make now to get to 75 either. I was thinking of continuing hoods up to at least 55, but I'm not sure

It is definitely pretty silly how expensive it is, but I love your idea about making different sorts of clothes. I've thought of suggesting this myself. People are too afraid of losing stuff in towns, so most people run around naked, especially when crafting. Tailoring should allow you to make a wide variety of clothes that are extremely cheap to make with possibly a player design system. Some clothes could even be worn over armor like you said, such as capes for example. It would be great for clans or even pvping.
