i've had alot of discusions about this in clan chat and we came to the same conclusion ure better off hunting goblins then hunting a strong mob

(lets say we hunt raven standards with a 15 man group (without kiting it or using some kind of bugs thats a good minimum)

now lets go hunt goblins solo

the strongest ravens drop 300 gold
/ 15 = 20g each raven (u'll need a break after each raven to regen health/stamina)

the weakest monster "goblin"
drops 5g each and u can kill like 10 of em without resting if u got some good stuff
+ u can get some beginner quests (that are repeatable >.<)
and earn a good 700-800g / hour

now... even if u get a key drop from ravens and u get alot of the 300g ones u wont earn over 20K cash / hour

the loot u get has to be devided by 20 people aswell wich .. comes down to.. not alot

this goes for all mobs there are some mobs that u can solo kill with a mount easely that drop 80g each (thats the same loot u'd get from killing 4 stronger mobs with a big group..)

my proposal
1) make ai a bit damn smarter (aka they learn how to climb stuff and run past a wall)
2) increase cash / reagent/ loot drops from higher end mobs by ALOT

this would make group hunting somewhat intresting besides the fact ure "safer" (exept for the fact u have 15 people making noise instead of 1 and lure in pk groups)

A big advantage of grouping to down stronger mobs is the relative safety. Not only are you far less likely to get ganked, but there is always somebody to rez you and get you back on your feet. You don't have to worry about banking as often, because you have friends looking out for you. So you could off strong mobs for three hours and walk home with bags full. And not only full, but full of much better quality loot than weaker mobs could possibly drop.

On the other hand, you have to bank frequently fighting lower level mobs solo like kobolds and goblins because even a single ganker could drop on you when you're recovering and possibly take you out. There also isn't anyone to rez you should you get trapped or get sloppy and the mobs down you.

Between the two I would say its fairly balanced, with a slight advantage going to group combat, since in a risk vs. reward game eliminating risk and keeping reward is nice.

Where exactly are you fighting goblins solo?
Normally, what times are you there?
Are you always alone or sometimes in a group?

Please be specific.

Soloing goblins for cash is a bad idea especially seeing as you have to fight tooth and nail for every kill since there's usually several people at the spawn and not nearly enough goblins. But yes I agree that you either fight the hardest monsters in the game(Which drop very well) In groups to make money or you go with yourself and 1-2 other people to kill mobs which aren't frequented so much as goblins.
