It's not so much a matter of cost or mats. It a matter that the skill is just not developed by anyone since it is so expensive to level and not much demand for the low level stuff.

If it were strictly a matter of cost, you would probably have to pay a tailor to level thier skill so they could make it for you.

Pretty pricy for 1 set of armour.

a full bone set would cost about 445 gold (costing mats at 2 gold each)

if you supplied the mats then it would be 285 gold without markup which im sure there would be :P

Bone is the best armor set a mage can wear that has 0 encumberance after casting Unburden.

Bone armor is badass, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone because it is frankly shit and worthless.

Because the thing that bone armor has going for it is that it has pretty decent magic resistance (for its cheapness, anyway. But it really isn't that cheap).

Yeah well, problem is Mana Missile is what 99% of all people use since they start with it, and it just so happens to be Arcane, which cuts through all armor- not even Bone adds any resistance to it!

Studded leather is better than bone and cheaper. And its easier to make :)
And for parts that arent covered you need to use leather parts (gloves, boots).

a much easier way to get a bone Armor is to go down to Rubaiyat at the very center you will find enough mobs with bone armor loot :rolleyes:

I never really understood why everyone likes bone armor.. its got more encumberance on it then studded, harder to acquire, and provides less physical protection. Devs need to bump up the physical protection on it.

Bone isn't expensive, the set runs at about ~600g, so it's less expensive than scale.

It has magic resists on it as well. Really depends on how the game develops but if mages become big sometime down the road Bone will be decent, as it is now... not to useful.

600 g for a set of armor that is shitty is pretty expensive. If magic really will become so much bigger down the road, then a shitty +1 extra in magic resistance wont do you any good!

Especially since arcane just cuts through that shit anyway.

It's more than +1, also most of the high damage spells are elemental or holy based which are included in the resists. As I've mentioned before though without knowing the damage reduction formulas it's hard to know exactly how much reduction you're getting.
