They are implimented into the game, Many Halmets have some sort of outer Protection available ( Stone walls/ Wooden Fence ) Not like This is Very affective at all as There is no Gate to Shut people out of the clan.

Most hamlets have some walls, but they rarely offer any real protection like the city walls
