The clan mines gives other ores than just iron. As does sertain mobs and chests.

you have to go to a clan mine..just hope they don't kill you for being there :-p

There are golems by the same name as the ore that drop other metals and clan mines, you can only get iron from the metal nodes in the wild.

Anyone can mine a clan mine but expect to be chased away or worse killed if you do it without permission.

Also Veiron Golems drop Veiron ore.

why cant you clan up? I mean i'm not in a clan yet but i'm still undecided on the game since none of my friends have been able to aquire copies. I have talked to a couple people but nothing yet.
