With the major node nerf solo/independant crafters are a dead thing. No soloer will be able to get the sheer volume of mats needed to attain the skill level to make what people WANT to buy.

Make it so that at say 25% (reasonably costly to ge to) you get a small % chance to make high end stuff. Make it so a tailor (worst profession to date after jewelsmithing and enchanting) at 25% has say a 5% chance to make a Bone Armour piece.

If you don't provide some sort of light at the end of the tunnnel, the only people who will even try will be big clan people only. And alot of us LIKE to go solo.

I agree that solo crafters are a dead thing in this game. I tried it solo for a week and barely made a living... (I was most increasing skills).
With the assistance of the clan (about 15 people helped), I made 15k in 2 days. It is a group oriented game, but solo players should still have a place in the world.

I don't agree. I am on my own since the game was released and am happily crafting plate armor without ever having bought iron or any other resources. Of course it takes a lot of time and commitment to get that far all alone. You will spend several hours each day gathering iron and doing nothing else but it pays off. You become rich easily and have no obligations towards a large and armor hungry guild.

I assume you got to that level pre-node nerf. What about everyone else and those who couldn't join or have yet to join? Think you'd like to start over under the current circumstances?

Same here. Though I do see sometime down the line the desire of looking up a clan to join so I can access the other 80% of the game.

I took up a new craft from scrath simply because of the node change. I play to challange myself and prior to the change there was no challange at all in training other tradeskills that alchemy, enchanting and tailoring. And i will do it all over again with a smile if they make it even harder.

The more people give up on crafting the more business the ones that have the patience and the will to carry through get. Server has way too many crafters as is, i won't mourn loosing the ones that give up and start buying things from me instead of making them themselves :)

I'm a solo player and I didn't have much of a problem getting nodes relatively close to towers/banks. Sure the new system adds a few minutes of this node is empty to my travels, but it's really not that big of a deal.

Just don't give up, move on to another town/wilderness bank and search around them for loaded nodes.
