Can someone explain what this new global nodes system means?
I hear people discussing it all the time but I really don't get what they're saying. Do all nodes in an area share the same resources now? i.e if one runs out of resources, all the others in the vicinity do?

As I understand it from the forums:
Previously a node had a resource count for each person individually. So 100 people could mine the same node and they'd all get the full count of resources from that node. Now the amount is related to everyone working on the node, which means that there are nodes that other people have emptied that you have not touched. This forces people to go further out into the world to get their materials.

before it looked like you had a personal amount you could harvest from a node .. thus you may not be able to extract but someone next to you would be pulling from the node...
NOW they are global so when the node is depleted it is depleted for all... thus harvesters are having to go further afield for their resources.
Not sure on node reset timers yet, assuming every few hours they are reset...

Ah, so basically they are not instanced anymore. Thanks, I get it now.
This is a great change then!
No more AFK mining in towns ;)
