Otherwise, whomever discovers them gains an unfair advantage, and can abuse it quietly until you fix it.

Making such bugs public does two things: it makes flaws common knowledge, so everyone remains on even ground. It also provides you with multiple viewpoints on the problem, enabling a quicker fix.

No you're an idiot. The posting of exploits just spreads them around causing more people to exploit before Aventurine learns about it and stops it. If you want to report an exploit send a /gm_help message or email them at support@aventurine.gr.

I agree.

So quickly heightening the damage done of an exploit before fixing it is the better way to solve the problem? The devs don't read the forums religiously. It could be hours before they are even notified of an exploit posted on the forums.

I'm sure exploits take a higher priority ingame through /gm_help than other tickets. I don't see the forums postings to be a faster way to contact Devs on exploits.

"it makes flaws common knowledge, so everyone remains on even ground."
10 people cheating using an exploit barely affects the playerbase. Chances are you will never even meet one of the people who abused it.
Half the playerbase cheating fucks with gameplay for the other half of the playerbase. You can't avoid running in to someone who has done it.

It also provides you with multiple viewpoints on the problem, enabling a quicker fix.
Not really. Take the last big one that got posted on the forums. In no way shape or form did everyone using that provide a quicker answer to the issue. If they can replacate the exploit themselves they do not need our input.

What it does is make it so half of the playerbase uses the exploit before they can fix it seriously increasing it's impact on gameplay and making it unfeasible to ban the people who are using it because of how many of them their are.
