Anyone try getting steedgrass recently? I'm getting like 1 steedgrass every 5th or 6th bush. Am I just unlucky or did they lower the drop rate?

When I started I found 1 steedgrass every 30-45mins. Now I'm getting 2 steedgrass after 6-7 hours of harvesting.

I got my first steed grass at skill level 28. My friend is at level 60 and still has not got one.

I am not sure if this has changed recently in the patch.
I think it is just a random drop

From what I've heard it sounds like they've changed the droprate. In beta I used to get about 1-2 per bush. I doubt everyone is just having bad luck. Mount prices will probably go up quite a bit.

Pretty sure it is entirely random (1% chance each time there is a success). I got 14 steedgrass by the time I reached level 68, which seems too high if it really kept track of how many steedgrass I had harvested.

Who in their right mind really think a dedicated harvester will be able to successfully fight/kill an dedicated PKer no matter how well you gear up? The more gear the more a TARGET you make of yourself. Runing and dumb luck are your only chance and with the debuff available, you'll still proabably die. And that a 1 v 1 scenario.

2) What's wrong with killing harvesters? I've killed a fair few already and it beats doing it yourself sometimes. If you don't want to be killed while harvesting solo,organise a party or join a clan of equally-minded people; plenty are recruiting.

I am 100% sure they have changed the drop rate on steedgrass but until people realize it, have fun selling yours for only 300g it is worth prob. 500-600g now due to the change in nodes and the decrease in drop rates.

Yeah, it's random. 90.8 skill. It helps to get herb mastery at 75 to harvest faster, which results in more herbs/hour.

I was harvesting in the wilderness get attacked by two humans.....both are dead. if you are prepared and not AFK you can easy farm outside+extra loot from PK's. But you need mount to escape fast enough and always rest enough

I've gone three days, about 4 hours per day (broken up here and there) with no steedgrass. I know randomness often doesn't seem so random, but this is pretty frustrating. It seemed like I was getting at least 1 per hour when I first started, and it seemed sometimes as much as 3 per hour. Now I'm at a point where I'd almost fall out of my chair if I got one.

From the time they made spawn global it's obvious that the drop rates have been lowered but it does not mean that getting 1 or 2 steeds a day is hard.

Of course there will be days that you will not get anything while some times you may get 3-4 steeds at least.

From my statistics i get about 1.4 steeds a day (during 1-2 hour gathering session) and since i play for a month i have gathered about 40 of them.

What i mostly do is trying to find bushes that are fresh and avoid populated places as much as i can.

I tried to combine many factors like time drops and what i think is that a combination of a fresh bush in a zone which gives one steed will likely give you more. Also always try after a server reset and you will not be disappointed.

From what I've seen, quite the opposit has happened. In the last 4 days, I've farmed about 7 steedgrass, as compared with about 3-4 from go-live. But, I don't know what has caused this. Naturally, I've got a much higher skill level now (over 75). Also, some of this has been from a clan-city farm. However, only two came from the farm, so drop-rate from standard herb-nodes is still much higher, in my own experience.

Exactly. Up to level 60 skill, I saw 2 steed grass. From 60 to 70, I have gotten 4. It is totally random when gathering from normal herb bushes. If you are not having any luck, keep trying, things will even out.

For what it's worth, I spent a few days putting every herb I harvested in a bag, then I counted them all. With a sample size of 1847, I got 11 steedgrass. That comes out to 0.6%; the actual drop rate is probably 0.5%.

Ok guys, get a sheet of paper and cut it into 100 sqaures. On one of the squares, write Steedgrass. Put them all into a hat. Pick one, look at it, replace it, and shake it around. Do this for 8 hours. Write down how many steedgrass you get. Repeat 10 times. You will see sometimes you'll get more steedgrass, sometimes less. They haven't changed the droprate, it's called good luck and bad luck.

the failed rate is really random, 10 failed follow by 1 success aand then another 8 fail mining...

But sometimes I get 15ish success with 1 fail and then 15ish success.

The rate is too random (I blame my luck as I got none it seems...). IMO, they should increase the rate of success according to the gathering skill (I'd assume they already did that but its too insignificant like the crafting skills)

I believe having 100 Herb Gathering and 100 Herb Gathering Mastery helps. I have both and I have 33 Steedgrass in the bank right now after about 1 week of gathering, doing about 2 hours of gathering on average a day.

With all the new players on it gets harder to find a bush that not empty these day. Trying to fish nearly impossible.

Means AVERAGE one steed for every 200 herbs.

If you let 5 herbs you can get a steed. Hard odds, but possible.
If you get 1000 herbs, I bet you will get between 3 and 7.
If you get 2000 herbs, I bet you will get between 8 and 12.
Statisctics tell you what to expect.
Reality proves statistics are no more than a accurate way to not know exactly what to expect.

Well, I was getting about one steedgrass for every three herb nodes I exhausted. I have gotten one in the past 24 I have exhausted. So either I am just having a string of horrible luck, or they have dropped the chances for getting steedgrass while gathering.

rarity is all cool but I lose 2-3 mounts a day in crashes on weekends... and I cant replace my mounts with steedgrass since the drop rate sucks. Maybe make the mount go back into your bag if you crash or the server does.
