Right, Jewelsmithing. Most will know that the current Gems that are usable are;
Garnet (In making Beads)
Nacre (In making Beads)
Ruby (In making Ruby Rings and Gemstone Carcanet)
Crystal (In making Crystal Rings)
That leaves the following that so far seem to have no use in the crafting skill that is meant to use Gems;
Diamonds (Desc: "Used when making the finest jewelry")
Emeralds (Just as rare as Diamonds I believe)
Aventurine (Desc: "It is often used in making jewelry")
Pearl (Debatable as a Gem)
Amethyst (Desc: "Popular Gem often used in jewelry")
Sapphire (Desc: "One of the Rarest and most Valuable Gemstones")
Turquoise (Desc: "Perfect for use in jewelry")
I think thats all of them. So, I am curious. Is there some super secret hidden specialization skill that I haven't noticed yet? Or did Aventurine just get bored with Jewelsmithing and leave it as it was? I find it weird that the gems that specifically say Good for Jewelry cant actually be made into jewelry.
I dont mind being a Jewelsmither (smithy?) now that the secret to Enchanting is out into the open. Means I can move all the rings I have been making. But still, all the nice shiny gems sitting in my bank are getting annoying. Your views on this?

Alchemy also requires gems, not sure exactly which ones ....

Get you laid occasionally and end your social life. I can't recommend them...

They do absolutely nothing. Jewelsmithing is 100% dependant on Enchantment. The products are worthless until they're enchanted with buffs.

kill of game-time :(
and yes jewelcraft is whole dependant on Enchtanting. which is a good thing as both should work together.
of course: weapon/armour smithing is also dependant on enchanting, just not as damn much.

Do the higher-level or harder jewelsmithing items work better for enchanting? Can they hold more enchantment or something?
Is there any benefit at all to having more than 1.0 jewelsmithing and making simple rings to enchant?

Don't know yet really. All my rings I made (at 50) still only have 1 Formula 2 slot. But I have a feeling different rings will yield different results.

Alright, at least that's encouraging. I don't have enchanting yet, so I can't see the enchanting properties of items, or even have any understanding of how the enchanting system works lol. For now I'll not be too upset that I spent money and time on jewelsmithing.
Thanks

Higher "teir" jewelry gets stronger enchants.
Example, doing quickness enchant on a ring.
If it's a low quality mob drop ring like "gold ring" you will get +1 bonus to quickness.
A higher level ring will get +3 quickness. From doing the exact same enchant recipe.

Ive found its based on your enchanting skill and its random not the item its placed on.
I think Jewelsmithing is used to give them higher DUR and thats it.

No, it's more than DUR. Otherwise there really isn't much of a point to having a lot of necklace and ring recipes.
Well, it does suck if there is only Durability added to better rings, but, if you a important enchant on a crap ring and the ring breaks... it wil last longer with a awesome ring.
But i agree, i hope the enchants get better with better rings.
