Is this a serious post? I haven't been on in a few hours, and I'm on my laptop. Merc's are losing their city?

no one lost their city today, just a ginormous attack on The Mercenaries (not themercs)

You must declare War first and everyone is too lazy or scared to do that. Everyone has to ally with everyone to successfully do anything pvp wise!

Quit bitching about alliances in a thread asking if a game mechanic works.

It doesn't work, nothing damages them. Too bad we won't get patch notes to tell us when its fixed and we can actually play the game.

So you've tried warhulks and cannons and saw that those don't work? Or are you assuming that since hammers and spikes aren't effective that the entire system must be broken and not working?

yes they do work. 600 battlespikes took a moderately built up hamlet's clanstone to 80%

That's what happens when you try to use a paring knife to cut down a tree. :D

How come when I use battlespikes on a hamlet clanstone, there is no damage done to it? (No system msg, no anything).

Do you have fraps or ss of this? How long ago was this? I would like to know why there is huge difference of the people reporting being able to dmg clanstones and people not being able to dmg clanstones....

Don't know what other people are reporting but I can confirm this damage was done with my own eyes, though I was not throwing them so it's possible they just don't appear in the combat log or something.

There's a big thread on the siege as a whole here (http://forums.darkfallonline.com/showthread.php?t=148689) if you want to read about it for yourself.

Edit: was the hamlet stone you threw the battlespikes at under conquest?
