Darkfall Spook

I peered out of the window to see a shady figure, wearing a pitch black robe, standing the the rain. He had his hood up so I couldnt reconize his face.
Suddenly, he collapsed. I rushed outside but before I could do anything the body had dissapeared.
All that was left was his robe on the floor.

Twenty Years Later...

I pulled back my hood and sat down on the stool.
"Just a pint today Mear" I told the bartender.
"Looking after the old boy still, Taldor?" He asked my whilst fetching my drink.
"Yeah... Hes getting stronger everyday. He will be ready to go out on his own soon,"
Mear passed me my drink. I take a huge mouthful of it.
"Anything else?" Mear asked me.
"Nah, I should be getting back to the Jack now really," I replied and put my robe back on.
Waving the bartender farewell I opened the door and walked out into the street. As I walked a gazed at the castle, it was towering over the city like a shepard over his sheep. Its huge towers glisining with snow. I could see figures walking its halls.
I get to the gates and start to break into a jog. Jack would be getting worried about me being out late.
I rush through the forest with my sword rataling by my side. Dodging the branches and jumping over the roots I get nearer to the cabin.
At last, I reach the house over looking the river. There was smoke coming out of the chimmney, Jack must be cooking my food around now.
I enter and am greeted by the whiff of smoking bacon.

"Im back!" I call and I hear Jack grunt with no intrest. My faithful hound comes bounding at me like a bear and jumps me.
"Get of me Fred!" I tell him, pushing him away to avoid being licked. "Whats for tea?"
"Bacon and sausages with a hint of cinnamon. Just how you like it," He replies.
"Sounds good, I will be in my study," I tell him and trudge upstairs.
I walk into the room and shut the door behind me. I look for my book and find it on the top shelf. Reaching for it I couldnt shake the feeling of being watched.
Suddenly, I hear a war cry and I run to the window. Around fifty foot-men were surrounding us.
"Taldor Falkon, you are hearby arrested by order of Lord Fairmen!" One of them annoucned.
"On what charges!" I ask them furiously.
"You have been charged for three counts of murder and one count of theft!" He shouted back at me.

Something grabbed me and threw me against the wall. Dazed I look up and see a man. He had tattoes all around his chest and arms and was staring at me.
"Who the bloody hell are you?!" I screamed at him. I could hear the foot-men talking to themselves, confused.
The man covered my mouth with his hand and put his finger to his lips.
"Follow me," He said and walked off, me close behind.
"Where is the boy?" He asked and I pointed downstairs.
"Wait here," He ordered and crept downstairs.
Five minutes later he came back up with Jack and Fred, tail between his legs and fear in his puppy eyes.
"Follow me and dont say a word," He told us and we obeyed.

"COME OUT OR WE WILL COME IN AND FORCE YOU OUT!!!" I heard the officer scream.
"Quickly!" The mysterious man said and ran toward the window.
He isnt going to do what I think he is going to do, I thought to myself. And sure enough, He leaped through the window and into the river. I picked up Fred and did the same.
Wind rushing into my face...Splash! I fell into the river, spluttering. An arm lifted me out and the water and layed me down on a raft.
"ALRIGHT, WE'RE COMING TO GET YOU!!" The officer screamed again and I heard the foot-men storm my house. I watched Jack as he gently climbed out of the window.
"HURRY JACK!" I screamed at him. But he was to late. Arrows peirced his body and he fell into the river.
"Hold on!" The man ordered me and I did, for my life.
He quickly did a chant and the wind picked up, carrying us through the water.

We slowed down after twenty minutes of sailing through the river into the sea. I pulled myself up and started to weep for my fallen son. Fred started to whine aswell and climbed on top of me.
I looked up after a while, wiping my tears on my tunic. The man was steering the boat through the waves.
"Whats your name, sir?" I asked.
"The names Toar, Toar Delving, and you?" He replied
"My name is Taldor Falkon, and this is Fred, my faithful puppy," I said glancing at my dog, who had fallen asleep in my lap.
"Wheres our course?" I got up, looking around us.
"We are en route to Farq, a small port on the coast of Agon,"
"Ok, How long?"
"Not long, about another thirty minutes," He said
I fall back asleep after a while, dreaming of my house back at Brandybuck.

**************************************** *********

I wake up confused. I look around, I was in a small room in a white bed. Toar was by my side, asleep. Fred was cuddled up at the foot of my bed. Rubbing my eyes, I get up and walk over to the window. I peer out and saw the most beautiful sight. Lush green tree's surrounding a two level building with a clock tower. The south of this building a magnificant waterfall flowing down into a valley full of bright, clear water shimmering in the light. I see tall, magnificant elves walking around doing their business. Merchants with their stalls selling their wares and ordinary elves dressed in beautiful robes of all diffrent sizes and colours. The sun was high up in the sky and a warm breeze was blowing through this amazing city.
Toar stifled a yawn and turned over in his bed. This woke Fred and he came bounding at me with his tail wagging from side to side. His jumped onto me and started licking my face.
"Urgh, Fred get off!" I chuckle. I take him outside for a walk, and to take a better look at the palace.
We walk around for a while until Fred marked his territory outside the buidling. We continiued up the path to the market place.
A strange looking elf walked up to me. I studied him carefully. He had dark skin with glaring red eyes dressed in dragonscale armour.
"Hello, who might you?" He asked me.
"I am Taldor Falkon, I came from south of Cairn, my house was raided by foot-men and my son was murdered,"
"How terrible!" He exclaimed. I could detect a hint of sarcasm in his voice but ignored it. He looked at something behind me and walked off. Turning around I saw a heart-stopping sight. A man dressed in a black robe with his hood up was standing behind a tree staring at me. I blinked. He was gone.

I spent most of the day in the market looking for some new clothes but I couldnt forget the man I saw this morning. I tried to forget about it and eventually I gave up and went back to check up on Toar.
I entered the room and felt a icy chill in the room. Toar had dissapeared...
I searched for him for the next couple of hours. But he had totally evaporated into thin air. I decided to ask around about the strange looking elf.
The first person I asked was an magnificantly beautiful elf. She had bright blue eyes with dark brown hair flowing down to here waist.
"Hi there," She said elegantly, "I dont think we have met, My name is Gabriƫlla, who might you be?"
"Im Taldor, decendant of Herald The Great," I replied, "Do you know anything about the mysterious darkskinned elf?"
"Who? Oh, you mean Godric. Hes not an elf dear. Hes an Alfar, Hes the head of the council,"
"What's an Alfar?" I asked, bewilidered.
"An Alfar is a dark elf, but in Godric's case he is one of the few good ones. He has been with this city for many, many years. Long before most of us arrivied. He would be king but Lord Grimwald hasnt stepped down." She replied.
"And where are we?"
"Why, your in Farq, the most beautiful city in all of Agon,"
I wondered about this and was about to ask her something but a man grabbed me and pulled me around.
It was Toar.
"WHERE THE HELL HA........!" I stopped in mid sentance because I had noticed something. He was covered in blood and cuts from head to toe. Gabriƫlla screamed.
"Oh my god!! Are you alright?" I asked studying the cuts carefully. Some had arrow-heads in them. "Where have you been?" I asked him.
No responce.
"Toar? Where have you been?"
I looked up. His eyes were wide open and staring beyond the gates to Farq.
I spinned round and saw what he was looking at. An army of darkskinned elves were marching towards us. Alfar I thought to myself.
I looked closer and reconized a familiar face leading the army.
GORDRIC!!!
