If it was a true Communist system, and not one like the Russians had and the Chinese have then I would much rather have that system.

Are we talking about real communist countries or those like the Soviet Union, North Korea, Vietnam, China and so on? If so then I'd go for the Fascist. If we're talking about real communism then I'd go for the communist.

I think he's talking about fascism a lá Italy, where race really didn't matter (until Hitler started screwing around, that is). Some of the leading Fascists in Italy was actually Jewish until the laws against Jews (and other races that was considered "inferior") was forced upon the Italians by the Germans.

They usually don't last long anyway, and it'd be impossible to live in a truly communist state because true communism is an ideal and can't be achieved.

Fascism isn't technically that bad. I don't agree with it, really. I'm pro-capitalist/democracy (although democracy always turns to despotism), but if you had a good dictator, I mean a really good dictator, I don't see why fascism would be bad? You could say the U.S. is fascist. We've got Obama in power, now. I think for the past few years, the U.S. has really just had rotating dictatorships. Obama the worst to worry about, though.
Commie if those where my only options, but I very much rather not.

Do you have an example of a real communist country? No, because the communism you're talking about isn't real. China, USSR, Cuba etc. are/were communist and very much real.

My Dad is in the same boat. It only makes me enforce my theory that all communists believe in some magical government that somehow works without oppression.
The reason why it doesn't work is the oppression-incompetence scale. Communism is a competent system and therefore oppresive by default.

I think he refers to the fact the nations who claim to be Communist or Socialist are rarely actually like that. The leaders of those nations often enjoy all the luxury their hearts desire while citizens should be happy with bare necessities. There is rarely any equality at all.

One must take in account that both China and Russia have been culturally and political authoritarian all throughout their history even before communist takeover, so thats an other factor to take in account of.

Well, first of all, China, USSR and Cuba are not ruled by the people, with is the main principle of Marxism.
Facism, on the other hand, is exactly what it says it is, witch is the strongest right.("strongest" here meaning the people with the right parents. A more honest form of capitalism.)
