vid loaded too slow for me... I don't mind robotics so long as our workforce is becoming more educated to fulfill other jobs. if we are not going to insure education keeps up we are going to have a problem.

automated systems are fantastic for reducing cycle times and lowering defect rates. You don't even have to be particularly skilled to work in a modern machine shop so long as you have some minor quality control training and someone there knows how to diagnose what is going wrong with a program. Usually you can pick up what defects mean relatively quickly. Of course, a skilled machinest would have fewer defects and faster diagnostics times, but you have to pay him more than an operater.

I'm actualy studying robotics at uni, and this is something that concerns me. I have thought about how many people my efforts may put out of jobs in the future, but as they say...gotta look after number 1.

I would much rather have a wetback make my shoes then a robot, amirite.

I just found out they're making a robot that can stock grocery shelves automatically. I'm gonna go shoot up my store.
