Midway just filed chapter 11, another great video company going down. Mortal Kombat was one of my favorite games growing up, I spend countless hours in arcades fucking people up with Kano.

My hopes of seeing an NBA JAM T.E. remake have been shattered. I can't believe it. The best game ever and I'll never get to re-play it with new graphics, sounds and an online mode.

Guess I'll just have to stick to the PSX version. It was the best version btw, with better sounds, graphics, background music and a better narrator.

Shame to see any company go under (for the most part) but considering all that Midway released I'm not sure they will be missed that much in the scheme of things. Dare I even say EA would be missed more if they went the same way :D

As far as I'm aware the chapter 11 is only for the states and does not include their European branches (not sure what that includes these days) and as such it looks like they are looking to continue trading but basically under protection from creditors while they sort themselves out.

On the same sort off note its a shame at how many great independent companies have been lost despite making some great games as they didn't get commercial success they deserved :(

Anyways, if Midway just would have expanded on the way Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance was built, it could have turned out quite good.
