What Drives you to Make these Threads?

I have been watching these forums for a while now, and I'm wondering what makes you guys post here?

Now I am guilty of being sucked into the forumfall black hole a few times but managed to pull myself out without intervention from A&E.

So I'm trying to find out why people basically follow the same routine day in and day out, some for as many as 5 years.

You guys search the web for a random article, whether it be true or not, reliable or not, either news or entertainment. Then copy and post it with a heading you hope to grab attention. In basically an attempt to have other people, read what you posted and either agree with you or argue. Of course if its arguing you get a longer page count on your thread and feel like you accomplished a good thing.

Like i said, i am guilty of this from time to time, thank god for self control for the most part. But why is you guys do this? Is it a subconscious act for the need to feel smart, mature, or get attention? When it all boils down its just a strive for attention for the most part.

Of course you can say i am looking for attention, which in a way is true, i would like to know the answer.

And dont lie and say its boredom, because we all know there are many many other things that take up much more time and are more appealing.

TL: DR version: Why the fuck do people constantly browse the web to find something that they feel they can argue about online.

Also, boredom really is a factor. I'm often doing multiple things at my PC, and even before arriving at Forumfall I'd been a denizen of MMORPG OT forums for years. Forumfall is just the best of them. By far the best at that, prior to Aug.

Yeah, I hate small talk, but I love Forumfall. It's something fun to do on your computer in between other stuff, or when you want to discuss something. You don't enjoy it? Whatever. I can understand that, I absolutely detest talking to most people in real life.

It's a choice to talk to people in RL too. Though, I am becoming convinced that typing on my keyboard on these forums may also be in RL. I am still debating this as I could be in an alternate reality while in the OT.
