So, basically I wanna give WW2 online another go since last time i tried i did not join any squad and got minimum action.
I've heard the game is fun when you have a squad to play with.
I know some of you play/played this game, so could you give me some directions on what squad i should try to join or maybe drag me on to your squad if you still play.
I am willing to try a bit harder this time. Cheers!

Its fun but sometimes frustrating. Played that game since release.
It isnt a hit point game, so getting used to how easy it really is to die takes a while.

Yeah i know, i tried it once.
I also tried project reality for BF2 and i'm having alot of fun with that. I like reality based games such as project reality over vanilla BF2 so getting 1 shotted a few times doesn't scare me away.

Great game. But it's not something I'd play alone, or with the tightasses who play the game. Play with friends and it's truly great storming towns and shooting up some Nazi assholes.

That's why i made a thread on these forums and not on the WW2 online forums. I wanna play with some forumfallers if possible.

I only played for a week. I guess it would have been fun if I had a joystick, to sail a ship, or fly a plane. Also, I got berated by somebody for being a "spy". I had played the game for one day as allies, and decided to tryout the axis, and the guy/kid went crazy. It was humorous really...I don't know who would honestly pay for two accounts.

Had some of my best gaming moments in that game. Do yourself a favor and join a squad, as it is a necessary thing to do these days in order to really engross yourself in what that game's all about.
The air battle is what has kept a lot of those players loyal, as well as a very intense ground war. Learn the sky and I'm sure you won't be dissapointed, the ground can be fun but it takes a lot of patience.
/miss the days of re-supply and re-supply ambushes in my panhard group I lead. I was in the 1st Royal Canadian Marines under the command of one Smpower and Valix. They were great guys, as were all of those dudes in there with me.

As i said, the game sounds very fun indeed if you are in a squad.
So why are you guys not playing it while waiting for DFO?
EDIT: Is there anyone playing as infantry nowadays or are they all in Tanks/Planes etc.?

I was in British Storm Troopers which then defected and played as the Axis as the Black Scorpion Taskforce under the leader N2deep. It was quite possibly one of my favorite games back in the day.
I'll never forget the time we did a squad operation and filled 2 opels with sappers and found ourselves driving behind a column of allied tanks. We all got out of the opels, the opel drivers sped up past the tanks and pulled out infront of the one in the lead - all the tanks cluster fucked on each other and the sappers ran down the line from front to back sapping every tank.
It was the greatest thing that has ever happened in my gaming experience.

I keep coming back to try this game but I just never feel its got enough players to reach its potential. My last attempt was in November and I saw very little infantry fighting outside para drops. They are always improving though so there is hope for its future.

Done, installing game now, are you in Sh0wt1m3?
EDIT: Nvm, i'm an hour away on the download.
EDIT2: I would like to add that i do not own a joystick, so i'll probably not get into the whole dogfighting part, but i am interested in playing as infantry or tank crew.

I really want to play this game, I just don't have a credit card, I only use a debit card. Is there any way to get a trial account without one? :(
Siriel
01-22-2009, 06:30 AM
Don't think so bro. :(
Unless you ask your parents....
EDIT: wait....i have a Visa, isn't that a Debit card? Try using yours.

Haha, I may be a little old for asking my parents. Also they don't use credit cards. Nobody in England uses credit cards.
They should really provide debit card support, it's as good a payment method as any.

Operation Flashpoint 2. Being developed by Codemasters. Amazing stuff.
However, seems to have a hint of vapor at the moment. But Codemasters has the cash.

Seamless i think, or chopped up into 6 pieces as the battlemap is on the website...I'm not sure though, but the world is fucking huge if i remember correct.

I’ve never found any. Always had to use a credit card for this game. They charge you a quid for the free trail as well.

Hey ho! Great game and I would play again if i was able to overlook the way capping worked.
Anyways, I'm one of the old fuks who ranked enough navy in farmailes to get a DD. I absolutely loved the zeeland campaigns when you ran freighters and DD's out to the islands.

Seems like there are alot of old timers around here...why don't you join in on this with me?

Still remember that day. The devs threatened to ban me because of the name I was using, 'Adolfwar'.
Still, awesome game. I still remember when me and like 8 other people took a plane to England. The flight took about 30 minutes or so and when I jumped out I got killed by AA-turrets. :D

EDIT: Nvm...C:\ was full so i had to remove some old stuff to get the installation to work properly

As with all games, you eventually grow bored.
That being said, I echo the sentiment that it was awesome, doubly so if you played with some fun mates.

Wow. Reading some of this has inspired me to give it a try. I'm a little hesitant to fully hit it, as I'm a lil' strapped for cash and honestly don't know if I can afford an extra 15 bones a month, but I'll definitely download the trial. Send me some info to link up in the game. I think I'm going to go Axis, just because I hate the French, but I really don't care.

I love WWII Online but my new gfx card won't work with it. Played inf only. Favorite thing was bunkers, both in defense and attacking them, especially the times you take them against all odds. One time I was able to charge into a bunker and kill all 6 inf in it alone. I felt hella proud hehe. Another time I snuck in a bunker guarded by a lone ei (enemy inf) while he was poking around up at the top window slits. I didn't shoot him...snuck past him and captured the bunker while he was still in it:). Miss the game a lot;/.
And go Axis. Not sure about now, but when I played Axis needed the help more. Probably the same case now...
*edit*
Are tanks still annoying as hell these days? Hated those damn tanks, though it is fun sapping them.

Eh, I want to say yes, but I'll say no. It's way too frustrating and playing infantry is completely useless unless you're capturing HQs. You need a joystick to play any other role effectively.

I've been playing my trial for about 2h now.
I joined a mission and got alot of help from the people there, i even got a kill!
This is quite fun when you start to understand how to find the warzones.
