so has anyone seen any of the Cube movies? i've seen Cube and i just watched Cube 2. they're pretty cool. very surreal. anyway, in Cube 2 the premise is that the characters are stuck in a hypercube, or a tesseract, and they're trying to find their way out. Basically a tesseract is the 4th-dimensional extrapulation of a 3-dimensional cube.

so i was just wondering if anybody knows much about the theory behind these things and what it all means. i can't quite rap my head around it. it's a lot of theoretical physics, methinks. :ninja:

in the movie apparently inside the tesseract parallel universes could somehow coexist and even overlap, so as the characters traveled through the tesseract (which was a series of cube-shaped rooms that all looked the same and had a door on each of the six sides) they would run into people who had already died or even their own dead bodies (the hypercube was boobytrapped for a reason that was never really explained, but i think that's the point, and the people have to try and survive the booby traps and each other and stuff. it's basically the canadian version of Saw, only far less retarded)

so i was wondering how and why these parallel realities could exist in the tesseract and the REAL theory behind it all, because i'm sure the movie embellished and changed a lot of the actual math behind it.

any quantum physicists in the house?:confused::confused:

Bleh, geometry, shapes, bleh. I know the person who made this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Tesseract.gif) one though. Kind of cool.

I saw Cube 2 before the first one. Cube 2 was fucking great, better than the first, which doesn't happen too often.

there is cube 2? WHAT THE FUCK!!!

first one was good, I didn't like the end though because...

black guy raging and killing hot chick was too random for me, and the retard is only one who lives wtf.

I'd say it wins the award for 'best movie shot entirely in 1 room' though.

i mean i think it's supposed to be ironic or something that the one who is considered the least intelligent turns out to have all the answers, is a math genius, and is also the only one that survives.

What about Gleaming the Cube (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097438/)?

the only similarity between that movie and what we're talking about is the word 'cube'
