Never got a 360. Was always afraid it would red ring on me...well, that and pretty much any game on the 360 is on the PC as well, so there was little point to me getting one.

I like the game and all, it just is though. Not quite enough sneaking as i'd like but I suppose that's always been the way with MGS. Even the version on the PS1.

None of those games make the console worth buying. I have a ps2 and an xbox, I loved them both, the play station current gen however has failed in bringing enough exclusive titles to warrant purchasing compared to the xbox360. Unless you really have a hardon for Blu ray the PS3 is inferior.

Don't get me wrong, I have my own biases to the consoles and all that just like everyone else, but I usually like to think I have the restraint not to troll about and flaunt my opinions on the consoles as if they're zeus' own truth.

I don't really like either, but from an objective standpoint the PS3 is simply inferior because of the available titles unless you take advantage of the Blu Ray player a lot, then you might have a point.

I bought my PS3 when it was inface, a cheap blu-ray player.

Several games have made it worth owning (Valkyria Chronicles, LBP, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, uncharted, resistance, disgaea etc). Plus backwards compatibility was worth it to me.

But yeah, theres not really anything except them that i dont play on my 360.

I ask because my paranoia of it is fueled by the fact that every friend I have who owns one has had theirs fail on them at least twice, the biggest example being one of my friends in college having to send his back to MS 6 times within just as many months because of it.

Depends, if you get an early gen Xbox it's a lot more likely, though I'm not kidding here, a vast majority of those red rings could be fixed with a nice bath in vinegar+water. And no I'm not kidding. I have not had a red ring once, had mine since christmas of... can't remember, couldn't have been more than one year after the launch of the console though.

Yeah, playing on a machine specifically and entirely designed to operate games well with the best performance possible, as well as having the widest selection of games available AND noting that every machine is equal in power so that isn't a factor in online play... yeah, all of that definitely adds up to being stupid if you use it. :rolleyes:

I've had it for over two months. Haven't had a single notable issue with it since. If you don't abuse the system, it works fine.

ive broke 2 xbox 360s so far, and still wont buy a PS3 why, well its all about the games, ps3 games dont apeal to me. Also in my area I have about 20 freinds that own xbox 360s and none that own PS3, hmmmm.

Have had RROD twice now. It has nothing to do with abusing your system. It is just a fault with the design of the console. However i know some people who have been lucky, one friend had his console for a good two years before it happened. Although it did still happen. They are badly designed pieces of shit

Keep telling people, vinegar+water bath > the most common form of red ring which is caused by the overheating. Also an external fan prevents it as well.

The best way to do it is just open it up and re-attach the GPU, which is almost always the cause of the failure. But i dunno about an external fan, wouldn't that just stop the hot air from escaping as it should?
