In all fairness they are both pretty much fictional even though Leonidas was real... but 300 did push the limits of reality to the edge.

Xerxes is not an actual god. However sauron is a demi-god. A weapon that can harm a demigod=ftw. Plus the book trilogy was written in the 50's. Taboo to cheat on your girlfriend in the 50's. I like Gandalf the best out of all of the LOTR characters, but aragorn could still kill leonidas. Lets see leonidas survive on 1 on 5 fight with some ringwraiths.

Aragorn is more balanced, and probably endured more than Leonidas ever did considering he's over 80 years old. I give Leonidas the win for overall strength, but Aragorn has above average strength, wisdom, and intellect, so is, in my opinion, a better fighter than Leonidas.
